Technical Considerations
Beforeyoumount theadaptertoafixedlocation,considerthe
following:
Determineoptimalplacement.
•Collectanddocumentnetworkinformationasrequired.
•Ensurethecable lengthfromtheEthernetnetworksourceto
thepowereddevicedoesnotexceed100meters.
ConnecttheunittoagroundingtypeACoutlet(100‐240
VAC),
usingthestandardpowercordorpowersupply
supplied.
•AllowforeasyaccesstodisconnecttheunitfromtheAC
outlet,ifnecessary.
•Donotcovertheunitorblocktheairflowwithanyother
objects.Keeptheunitawayfromexcessiveheat,humidity,
vibrationanddust.
Installationmustatalltimes
conformtolocalregulations.
•Therearenouserserviceablepartsinsidetheadapter.If
supportisneeded,refertoGettingHelponpage xvii.
Note: The unit is not a repeater and does not amplify the
Ethernet data signal.
Caution: Observe the following requirements when mounting
the Enterasys Single-Port Power Over Ethernet Adapter.
